Cattle production subsidizes corn production in the U.S. Without feed lots
there would be no market for corn deemed "unfit for human consumption"
because of disease producing contamination. As this is the majority of the
corn crop ( and a large portion of other grains), human foods produced from
corn ( and other grains) would see a considerable increase in price. Corn
products are also supported by the production of ethanol which in spite of
being no cleaner a fuel than gasoline and taking a larger amount of fossil
fuel to produce than it produces in energy is being produced in every larger
amounts. Corrupt politicians allow this to happen.

By enacting laws to further the goals of the grain industry ( see Low Fat
Hoax ), George McGovern has killed as many of people killed in the entire
Vietnam War every year for over 20 years. Taking 2/3 of all land currently
used food production (unsuitable for vegetable crops) out of production will
only kill millions of people and put domestic animals on the endangered
species list.
