I purchased and installed two matched 32 mb edo 72 pin memory sticks.

When my system tries to boot it indeed states 65534k OK

THEN under that is states " Memory test fail "

if I disable the HALT On ALL ERRORS to NO ERRORS it will go to the Win 98 screen, then to the Microsoft Scandisk screen, because win was not shut down properly, once it finishes the scan drive for errors it then goes to a black screen and sits there for approx 1 min. then automatically goes to the Microsoft Windows 98 startup Menu, with #3 hi lighted, stating win did not finish loading on the previous attempt choose safe mode to start win with min set of drivers. selecting #3 safe mode I get one beep then another screen with #3 hi lighted and a error: HIMEM.sys has detected unreliable XMS memory at address xxxxxx XMS driver not installed.

IS this a bad memory module ???
