Hi Dave And Everyone;

I use an AUTO TUNER EXTENDER from MFJ.

It runs around $59.00 and it works well.

It has an eight position switch and you set the switch to where your
internal tuner will tune. What I do is set the switch to get the loudest
signal or the highest reading on the S meter and then I tune and, it works
just fine. Their may be a menu setting to disable the internal tuner, I'm
not sure.

To disable the internal tuner, just hit the tune button without holding it
in. You can tell when the tuner is on because the tuner will tune when you
hold in the button.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.
