Mushkin makes a very good product and has info on what there ram works on
concerning AMD and others.
I have dealt with them and they are honest and will tell you what you can
get by with.

By the way, CAS2 vs CAS3 differs by the number of cycles your processor must
visti the ram before it is satisfied.  In other words, your CAS2 will only
be accessed (column/rows) 2 times where CAS3 requires 3 trips.
ie: 33%more time required for CAS3.  Here is where you gain performance.
Where can you get 33% improvement for the difference in $Cost between CAS2
and CAS3?
