Removing animals from the 2/3 of the Earth's arible land which is unsuitable
for plant crops would result in starvation for billions of humans and the
extinction of entire species of hooved animals ( which in spite of
domestication are at their lowest population levels in the last 2 million
years).

Our only hope of sustaining high population levels of humans relies on the
80% ( by weight) of the world's biomass that has been discovered in the last
25 years. As this potential source of sustenence lies in the mid-ocean
depths far too dark for plant life we must eat more animals not less to
utalize this resource.
