Mike,

I'm sorry you were put out and treated rudely and crudely.  You'd think the
guy would have the decency to show interest and kindness given the effort
you made to be available.  And that this was your Alma-Mater, the more so.

It's not that there's jerks everywhere, it's what to do if there in
positions of power and influence--which they are, often.

Been there, done that, it's awful hunting for jobs, being turned down, not
having a clue about why the no thanks.  I was actually offered a position
only to have a higher up nix: I insisted on an interview and he said no way
no CP's here.  Guess what?  No nondiscrimination laws in the good old days.

We love ya.  And know how smart and capable you are, and you'll find
somebody willing to hire you for that.
