Hi all.

I'm new to the list and have been lurking (and learning!) for a while. My
2-year old daughter has suffered from what we thought was a dairy allergy
since she weaned from the breast. We finally took her to an allergist and
discovered that, while she does not test positive for dairy, she has a very
high IgG count, although a low IgA count. We have since met with a
pediatric gastroenterologist affiliated with the local childrens' hospital.
He wants to do an endoscopy to make sure she, in fact, has celiac. She is
fairly asymptomatic. Although petite, she has never what we would consider
a growth problem and the only possible indication seems to be on and off
diarrhea.

In any event, I'm leery of the endoscopy. I am wondering whether others
have subjected their little ones to this procedure and whether you all think
it is a good idea. I do believe that we are better off confirming the
diagnosis before going GF.

We don't have a family history of celiac.

Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom you might have,

Michele
