I believe you will find that white celotex (
http://www.celotex.com/products/residential/reginssheathingfr.htm )
and masonite as developed by Mr. Mason of Mississippi
( http://www.masonite.com/masonitedom/html/company_profile_of_masonite_co.html )
are two very different materials. The white celotex was used as an interior wall covering
during the 40's and early 50's. The tar impregnated celotex was and still is available to be
used as sheathing on the exterior of wood frame construction. The white celotex is
general not commercially available any more. I do not believe celotex could really be machined
to give the appearance of T&G material where as masonite is the original interior paneling
material.
