<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Hello Everybody. I have a question regarding resistance to bacterial infections, actually two questions. I was reading in a document downloaded from this very list site "Initial Assessment and Follow-up Care of Celiac Patients" that "At diagnosis, patient should get a Pneumovax, because it is very common for Celiacs to have poor splenic function, which puts them at risk of developing certain bacterial infections such as pneumococcal pneumonia and meningitis". I have never had this test, but I have noticed that every time I get a cold, I end up picking up secondary bacterial infections, that drag on and on and on.. So my questions are: 1) has anybody had this test? is it conclusive? 2) if the test shows an impaired spleen function, against which diseases (apart from the two listed above) should I get immunized? Thanks in advance. Alessandra
