Hi, all.  Susan Carmack's posting about Lay's Salt and Vinegar Chips reminds
me to ask about 2 ingredients that she lists for this product:  malic acid
and acetic acid.

Malic acid?  Nothing to do with malt I hope?  Anybody know (I know that
_somebody_ out there knows!)

Acetic acid -- just another word for vinegar?  distilled vinegar?

A private reply is fine; I'm working on a post to the whole list in which
these ingredients are an issue.
