I thought some of you might be interested in this. Here are some synonyms
for additives that may be used on food labels:
casein, caseinate, lactalbumin, or ovalbumin = milk;
dextrose = derived from corn;
glucose syrup = usually derived from corn;
hydrolyzed protein (or vegetable protein) = usually yeast;
leavening = yeast;
lecithin = usually egg or soya;
vegetable oil = usually a mix of oils, often including corn oil;
vegetable protein = usually soya; whey = milk.
