<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I received many helpful replies, most of which are included below. I haven't ordered a test yet, but I will probably go with York labs, even though theirs is more expensive. Reliability and not having to deal with a doctor are the main reasons. Plus, I wrote to other labs and they did not reply. I also talked to Melissa Diane Smith (author of "Against the Grain" and a nutritionist) this morning at our celiac Walk, and she said that York is the one she recommends to everyone. She also said that it is very common for a person to react to multiple foods if they have problems with one food. Thanks for all the responses! This group is great. SC RESPONSES: I recently got it done through York Labs www.yorkallergyusa.com. You don't need to get blood drawn either. You just prick your finger and put the blood in a tiny tube. I didn't like the results (too many foods that I react to, ha ha), but everything else seemed fine. Whether the results were accurate is still too soon to tell for me. _____________________________ I have used Great Plains Laboratory www.greatplainslaboratory.com for my daughter and it was very helpful. You can order the test kit for free from this website. I did have my doctor sign it so I could get my insurance to cover it, but ask your friend if you need a doctor's signature - the kit has the vials to collect the blood in, then FedEx it to the lab in Kansas. The directions are all in the kit. We did the IgG testing - it tests about 100 foods and the degree of reaction to each one. We got the results mailed directly to us. (They also sent a copy to our doctor) Check out their website -that may help. _____________________________ Prometheus Labs is the best. They have a website. _____________________________ This lab may do it. Check through link, and may call toll free if necessary: Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory http://www.gsdl.com/home/ -- Click here: GSDL _____________________________ Great Smokies is a really good lab for food allergy testing. I believe they have a website & I'll bet you can contact them to ask how you can get the orders you need. Also, you might consider finding a naturopath in your area. They can order food allergy testing, usually from Great Smokies. ___________________________ I am very happy with Immuno Labs in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. ___________________________ http://www.yorkallergyusa.com/ You do not need a doctor for this one. It is done by a finger stick. I used it and it helped me identify other foods. Luckily I did not have too many foods on my list that I react to. __________________________ I've heard many positive things about York Labs. I plan to use them for testing once I have the $$. They actually do research and publish it. I'd be careful of enterolabs. They don't do peer reviewed research __________________________ * Please include your location in all posts about products *
