Art made the point many years ago nd it is important to note that simple
caloric restriction does not necessarily mean weight loss.  Down regulation
of key hormones can derail any attempt at body composition change.  The
argument made in the two articles is essentially that one must live at high
energy flux to achieve normal (by paleolithic standards) health.

John, I know this does not really address your question but it is what came
to mind upon reading you email.
