<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Tonight I took my 5-yr.-old Celiac child to the emergency room for pain in her stomach. She was doubled over. I wasn't sure if she "got something" -- she shouldn't have or if it was her appendix or what. They took some X-rays and found her colon is full of stool, even though she has had a few good BMs today. The Dr. said I should give her a liquid diet & flavored mineral oil to try to get her to have more BMs and get that moving. Can anyone recommend a GF flavored mineral oil that a child will take? I tried searching Abigail's on-going list and the celiac archives but I'm coming up empty handed. There's no 24-hour pharmacy near me so I can't get it tonight anyway. And when I get it, do I send her to school, or keep her home. She attends full day Kindergarten. Tonight I'm feeling pretty guilty because I was wondering if she was "playing me" about having tummy aches because she knows this is a big hot button for me. I try to always take it seriously and she says it all the time, like when she doesn't want what I make for supper, or if she doesn't want to go to school, or shopping, or whatever. Sometimes I think she wants attention. I just gave her some warm lemonade, thought it might help her to go, but she vomited instead. Is that from the warm lemonade, or maybe she really did get something.... I'm having a moment where I'm not feeling grateful that Justine is special having CD (as opposed to something much worse) -- I'm feeling sorry for myself that my child is gluten intolerant. I wish I didn't have to wonder, always watch what she eats, and doubt her when she says she has a tummy ache. There, thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Thanks in advance, and for letting me vent. Donna
