<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> I wanted to share our experience in case anyone was in the same position. Our 1 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with celiac by one doctor, told no by another. We went gf and he got better. Our ped told us he thought he had autism. We thought he might have food allergies. Finally a doctor diagnosed a severe yeast infection in the gut. Our now 2 year old son has been on yeast med and yeast diet which includes no gluten and no dairy and he is almost completely better. Each day his autism symptoms became worse. We are seeing a neurologist who refuses to believe that yeast has anything to do with his problems and has ordered an MRI and EEG and many many other tests. I see my son now after four weeks of treatment and he no longer bangs his head, isolates himself, angry or violent, can now tell the difference between hot and cold and his started to try to make sounds and trying to talk. I can't tell you what a relief it is. Please if you have a child that does display autistic signs, have him checked for yeast. It has made a world of difference for our child. As a side, I have read that yeast is often misdiagnosed as a gluten problem.
