<<Disclaimer: Verify this information before applying it to your situation.>> Dear listmates, Sorry for the delay in this summary but I was waiting for more responses. Here's what I got so far. If anyone has any other suggestions for this area please send them to me and I will summarize. Joan "Hi- i lived in Atlanta for five years. There are several great health food stores. The biggest one is called Garden of Eden and is beside the Tara cinemas. Another good one in Sevenanda in Little Five Points I think the street name is Carriage House road, but you can verify that easily in a phone book. You're biggest problem is that you are downtown (CNN center). THERE IS NOTHING DOWNTOWN. You will have difficulty finding any food store there, let alone a health food store. I would bring snacks along. If you have friends in the area, they can drive you to other neighborhoods with more offerings. There are great restaurants in the midtown and Virginia Highlands Area. " "I recently added a new feature to www.celiacdatabase.org It is a database of store and restaurant info. The feature is new and there are only a handful of entries. However, there is one store listed for Atlanta: Whole Foods Market 2111 Briarcliff Rd Atlanta,GA 30329" "Hi! I just came back last night from a conference in Atlanta. It was held at the Marriott Marquis which isn't too far from the CNN Center. I always travel with breakfast cereal as conference breakfast food is usually breads. That was a good option this time! Lunch was provided by the conference. The first day I almost cried, because even though I had ordered in advance, "nobody knew nuthin". I found food at the deli in the Marriott that ended up being delicious. For dinner one night we ate at Pacific Rim, an Asian fusion restaurant on Peachtree Center Ave, one block from the hotel. The second night we traveled to Buckhead and ate at Bluepoint. They were featured on the Food Channel and were lucky enough to get a reservation. The manager or head cook's sister has food allergies and so the restaurant is very sensitive to us. I gave my restaurant card to the waiter who took it to the chef. He prepared me a special meal that was very good. Beware, this restaurant is PRICEY! When we went to Underground Atlanta, I had a burger at Johnny Rocket's. It was good as was the vanilla shake (minus the syrup) that I indulged in. " Hope this is helpful. joan
