One year ago I was diagnost with Barrett's Esophagus and Celiac Sprue by endoscopic exam. Five years before this, I did not have Barrett's or Celiac which was also check by endoscopic exam. I never have taken any medicine for reflux or have any history of GERD. I do not have a hiatal hernia and I do not have any history of stomach ulcers. I would like to know how many Celiac's have Barrett's Esophagus and any Celiac's who have esophageal cancer from barrett's. I would also be interested in any research on the connection between Celiac Sprue and Barrett's Esophagus. The only likely connection I have came up with is a suppress immune system and or nutrient deficiencies caused by malabsorption.
