I had a very interesting chat yesterday with a pharmacist friend of mine. He was telling me about the latest reseach on CALCIUM. It doesn't make a difference as to what form of calcium you use...what is impt is WHEN you take it. Reseach is showiing that you should take one calcium pill IN THE MIDDLE OF EACH MEAL... Your body needs stomach acid to break it down and let the body absorb it. That said, then using Tums for calcium is not going to work well because it cuts the stomach acid. Better to use other supplements.
Also, the body does not absorb more than 600ng if calcium at a time.
Vit D is also impt for the body to absorb calcium.
