Once again I am just blasted away at how much help this Listserve is.
I got LOTS of answers and will summarize below.  Thank you all .

take Magnesium Citrate
  take magnesium supplements
some said no benefit from softeners
 eat prunes
take something called Prunelax
 take Turkey Rhubarb capsules from the health food store
use Natural Vitality Natural Calm - a magnesium supplement
 be sure to eat enough GF grains and drink enough water
use ground flax or salba
 try Citrucel  (CVS brand says gluten free on container)
try chia seeds
 use mineral oil
be sure and eat plenty of raw fruits and veggies
 drinks plenty of water
 some people said that they take stool softeners and they work with no problem, most mentioned Costco brand
