Does anyone have any info on hyperthyroid Graves Disease) and celiac?

I have a relative on a gluten loaded diet who is about to get his thyroid
destroyed by radiation as it is overactive.

I have seen references that a low carb diet will bring an overactive thyroid
back into the normal range.

What about a  gluten free diet? Wouldn't that also help?
