Hello everyone,

I am looking for a gluten-free medication for high cholesterol. I looked in
the archives and saw that others have asked the question in recent monthes
but did not see a summary. It's my understanding that Lipitor is gf (please
correct me if I'm wrong) but I'd like to know of any other gf cholesterol
meds because I'm not yet sure which one my doctor will want to put me on.

As a side note, I'm disappointed that my cholesterol has steadily risen since
going on the gluten free diet 5 years ago (I'm now 40 years old). I had it
checked last March - overall was 225. My doctor told me to try a low-fat
diet and come in for a re-check. I am on the gf diet and also developed low
blood sugar about 6 monthes after going on the gf diet. Then I quit smoking
6 monthes ago and put on a bunch of weight. While the overall dropped to
203, my triglycerides tripled! What the.... Anyway, given my family
history, the doctor wants to put me on a low dose cholesterol med.

Thanks for all your help,

Deb
