I have just been informed by Coeliac UK that this gluten-free beer, widely available in Italy, will be in ASDA (supermarket)stores in the UK by next March. No doubt other supermarkets and off-licence outlets will also stock it. If anyone has any information on anyone stocking it sooner or in nearby countries (France, Belgium, Holland) please let me know (sadly I was only brought 6 bottles..) Interested celiacs in should continue to press for local outlets, restaurants, pubs etc.
The beer is excellent - just like a regular lager. Its made from buckwheat and has full approval from the ltalian celiac society. An internet search will produce some reviews, all in Italian.
I have no connection with the Italian producers, Plasmon-Heineken (which is unfortunate for me as they stand to make a fortune from this product...!)
