This is the summary of the few responses I received about Hain products. I
had mentioned the availability of a Gluten free list and asked if people had
enjoyed the flavored rice cakes.

<<I have used all of the Hain flavors except the chocolate mint without any
reaction. Especially like the rice cakes, popcorn cakes seem to have too
many hulls.

<< Thank you for this post. The only Hain products I have experience
with are their excellant canola oil and their beef and chicken broths. I am
going to ask for their list. I have no problems with their chicken broth
whereas I do with the Health Valley chicken Broth. The difference is that
Health Valley lists white pepper as their last ingredient.

<<I was very happy to see your post on the Hain food company. I had been
eating their white chedder mini rice cakes for a year now

>>my daughter reacted to these items from Hain. This was in the beginning of
our gf adventure, so it could very possibly been something else she was
reacting to. I have not tried them again on her because I didn't know if
they were "safe".

I would like to mention that because of the above repy involving Health
Valley products, I called the Health Valley company to ask how well they
research the ingredients of their products. I was very happy and surprised
at the wonderful response. The contact person said the reason for the 800
line{1-800-423-4846 is to hear from consumers. When there are any problems,
they will investigate and repy to the consumer. She said that the GF
products are first in the production lines and that they thoroughly check
with their suppliers of the ingredients. She said this is because they do
supply a Gluten Free list and know that they supply to a Celiac population.
I believe she said their products are free of MSG, animal products, nothing
artificial ,some are low salt, etc. The listmember did make a call also and
the company is to repy to her!

Health Valley-- I want to add that I asked my local store to get in some of
the GF rice bars that are on their list. They are yummy. I did also call to
ask if the rice syrup which is listed in the ingredient label is obtained with
barley enzymes. I was told that it was not. Beware some have lactose but it
is minimal as I had no symptoms.
