Thanks to all for your replies. I plan to discuss my choice with my physician
since I take another medication and suggest all readers do the same. The
following is a summary:

1) Osteo-K, a dietary supplement for bone health that is GF and manufactured
in a GF facility. Learn more at www.nbi.health.com.

2) Homeopathic remedies have some excellent solutions. Read up on the
calcium uptake/bone reformation problems caused by Actonel, Fosomax, etc.
My MD said they were harmful for celiacs b/c they block the formation of
strong bones. Vitamin D is what you need, along with Phosphorus and
Magnesium.

3) Twin Labs..TriBoron Plus. It is a cal/mag supplement with boron and Vit D
for absorption.

4) Free-weight training. Learn more at
http://healthfieldmedicare.suite101.com/article.cfm/training_with_osteopenia_t
here_is_a_right_way

5) Bone replenishment system that Nikken developed (Osteo-Denx). It is all
natural and organic and GF.

6) Make broth using veal bones from the shank, below the osso bucco cut.
Now I use cow feet which I can get at my local supermarket, plus chicken
bones mostly for flavor. I cover the bones and whatever vegetables I want
for flavoring, add 1 tsp vinegar and simmer for 5 to 6 hrs. I drink a cup every
day and my bone density has gone up the last two times it was measured. If
you are vegan, I guess you could take gelatin in capsule form. I also take
calcium citrate - 1500 mg daily.

7) I take Dr. Hans Nieper calcium orotate by Advanced Research from
LuckyVitamin.com. Also 2000IU of D3 a day. Magnesium 800 mg a day.

8) I use Natural Progesterone cream, which my doctor prescribes. I also used
strontium ranelate. Go to: Bone_Loss_-_US_-_minus_celiac-testing.doc (36K)

9) Adva-Cal can be used to reverse OS. It is made by Lane Labs and has
clinical data to support its use.

10) "Does anyone know of a natural product that works?" Lots of people will
have different suggestions. Be sure you are tested after several months to be
sure what you do decide on works for you. (I agree; good advice)

11) Osteovalin has a website with contact information. My bone density doc
heads the bone density clinic at U of Chicago, and says that the problem with
Strontium is that it bonds to bone, so that when the DEXA (bone density test)
is done, the bone looks more dense that it is - part of what they see is
actually the Strontium that bound to the bone. The question is, is the bound
strontium really bone i.e. is the bone really stronger. If you do want to take
strontium carbonate, just Goggle it. There are brands that charge less. Also
biphosphonates aren't the only Rx meds for bone. I use Calcitonin nasal spray
(Miacalcin is the brand name, but I use the generic made by Sandoz..the
generic by Apotex has bad nasal sprayers.) There is also Evista, but some
women have problems withthe side effects. I take Twinlab Tri-Bolron Plus for
calcium/minerals and a lot of vit D. If you have reached an age where you
don't make enough vit D, even in sunshine, then low vit D levels will cause
high parathyroid hormone levels, which will leach minerals/bone and lower your
bone density. That is called Secondary Hyperparathyroidism. I have to take
high levels of calcium and high levels of vit D. I have also started taking Soy
Isoflavones (contains soy Genistein), Soy Ipriflavone, and a form of vit K2
called MK4 or MK-4 or Menatetrenone. I get the K2 Menatetrenone from
relentlessimprovement.com. It is helping my bone density. I am also taking
Carlson brand Cod Liver Oil softgels. I am doing that to balance out any
effect of K2 on clotting time, i.e., K2 can counteract things that make the
blood desirably thinner, and cod liver oil makes the blood a little thinner
(prevents clots), although K2 doesn't actually cause clots. I use the
Calcitonin nasal spray and take the supplements mentioned. Very important
to have your serum calcium, Vit D, and parathyroid hormone levels checked,
because no matter what efforts you make, if you aren't making enough vit D
(even slightly too low), and your parathyroid hormone level is even slightly
elevated, you will lose bone.

12) Prunes. I read a recent study that looked at many of the foods that we
call superfoods...the study found that prunes was the only food they tested
that actually increased the amount of calcium absorbed into bones. Of couse
one has to eat 4 to 10 a day.

13) Take plenty of Calcium (Nature's Way) & plenty of B12 and Vit D. I take
4,000 iu of D a day. I was taking maxzide & it was leaching the calcium out of
my hip bones. I quit taking it & problem solved.

14) I've been taking Evista for about 10 years. It's not natural, and despsite
the fact that it's not supposed to rebuid bone (just prevent further loss), I
was diagnosed with OS levels when I first found out I had bone loss, and I
now have osteopenia. (I do exercise and take supplements, including vit D,
which my body tends to lose).
