I've just sent a private message to a new list member, and realized that
there may be others on the list who can use this information.

You do not need to spend your own money on phone calls to most
manufacturers, processers, etc. when you can't find an 800 number listed on
the package.  Just pick up the phone and dial 800-555-1212, tell the
operator you want the 800 number for XYZ company in CITY, STATE, and if
they have an 800 number, you will get it.

On a completely different subject, there have been posts from people who
have developed reactions to unsuspected foods like tomatoes, or, in my
case, home roasted almonds.  The problem is that we overdose.  If one's
diet is limited and one finds a safe food that tastes good, the temptation
is to  eat lots of that food and eat it every day.  Nay, Nay!!  It is very
possible to build up a sensitivity to that food.  Don't ask me why - I just
know it happens.  It is folk wisdom, and not so folksy wisdom, that it is
best to rotate foods and not eat the same food more than once every four
days.  Not always easy to do, and in our American diet things like milk,
orange juice, bread, etc., are daily items in most households.

It IS possible to avoid rice every day, even on our diet, but that is hard.
The trick is to learn to cook and enjoy some of the more unusual rices  and
also to eat quinoa, buckwheat (let's not argue folks - buckwheat for those
who can eat it), amaranth, white potatoes, sweet potatoes,  etc.

If you have been overdosing on apples (this is apple season in New York
State) or artichokes, or even lobster - ah, there's an idea! - and begin
feeling poorly after a week or so, it may be that you would feel better if
you rotated your foods.

I wonder if others have also found this to be true.
