The blood tests in the best of circumstances are not very accurate. The
medical folks are very confused about this very complex disease. If your
friends have the money and really need to find out if they are in doubt,
take the fecal stool tests by mail at http://www.enterolab.com.

You are never too fat or too old to have celiac. This doctor sounds even
more ignorant than most.

It's not ideal that they were not consuming gluten. Probably depending on
the severity of disease, the antibodies may stick around accordingly.
It's best to be actively consuming gluten at the time of testing. And,
the doctors are full of B.S. Celiacs can be all sizes and shapes.
Diagnosis is increasingly at an older age.

If they feel better being GF, good for them. You don't need a
diagnosis to change your diet and feel good. The test results matter
more to some people more than others......but bottem line is: eat
what makes you feel healthy! :o)

Hope everything works out. So many weird little things that bothered
me physically are gone now that I'm GF. I have no desire to "cheat".

AAHHHH, that is what most celiacs are dealing with, and most listen to
their doctors, and continue to eat gluten. I am on a mission to educate
doctors, nurses, dentists, hairdressers, chiropractors, etc, because the
symptoms are so strange and variable. I believe you are the silent
celiac. So, you have no symptoms! Aren't you lucky you found out before
MS, Lupus or Rheumatoid Arthritis take over your body?

Thank you everyone for some great replies!

Celiac best,
Susan
