Hi there. Another school year begins, and as we exchange ideas for yummy gf
school lunches, don't forget to stock your child's locker with food for
emergencies. I live on the East coast, where we now have school contingency
plans for "community emergencies" (i.e. terrorist attack), which include the
possibility of the schools going into "lock-down". I'm sure the food they
have stock-piled to give the kids will not be gf, so in my kids lockers i
have a small supply of food and drink - just enough to last a couple of
days. Here are some examples of things you could stockpile:
Dinty moore beef stew, cans of tuna, peanut butter and/or nutella, rice
crackers and/or rice cakes, ener-g foods granola bars, gf trail mix, nuts,
packs of raisins, individual applesauce, canned fruit, juice boxes and/or
vacum packed milk, chocolate, gf cereal., gf crackers.

Hopefully none of our kids will ever need to eat this stuff - we'll just
bring it home again in June :-). Lynn
