Does anyone have experience with Nortriptyline?

I still had IBS even though my villi have healed and I remain on a gluten
free diet. After having a CT scan, upper endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule
colonoscopy, I was prescribed Nortriptyline to control my IBS. It worked
wonderfully for about 5 months and then everything started going downhill
from there.

I contacted the manufacturer. The rep said that the starch in the product
was from corn maze. He said I would never see their medications on a gluten
free list because they never test for gluten.

My IGA test is now showing trace amounts of gluten. I'm assuming that the
drug worked well at first because my villi were healed, but after several
months on the drug, perhaps my villi have been damaged.

Someone else on the listserve mentioned that their IGA levels increased
after eating Amy's gluten free products. I do eat Amy's frozen meals for
lunch a couple times a week.

I'm trying to determine if the Nortriptyline is the culprit or Amy's GF
meals.

I'm open to all suggestions. Thank you for your help!

Betsy
