The Summer 95 issue of 'Gluten-Free Press', a publication of the Canadian
Celiac Association - Toronto Chapter, (address above), provides  a list of
10 shops in the greater Toronto area where GF products are available. I buy
almost all of my GF foods at one of these locations - the Specialty Food
Shop in the world reknowned Hospital for Sick Children.

I find that this shop has an excellent variety of both GF prepared foods,
and GF basics for making your own breads etc. Their Glutino Corn Bread
($3.95 Can) is the best I've found anywhere (is any GF bread really Great!)
It is relative light, and toasts well, and is the only bread I eat. And I'm
hooked on their 'Rite Diet' Chocolate Covered Digestive Cookies ($5.50 Can
for 150gr package) which are delicious, and they have many other GF
products. They have qualified Dieticians on staff in their shop too.

I've often seen rice cakes in super markets around this area, and in a
variety of flavours. Don't know if they are GF though. I don't eat them.
 
By the way, in the Toronto area, Harvey,s will provide a list which
identifies which of their items are GF. When I decide to really treat my
wife to a night out,:) we go to Harvey's and I order their 'SuperBurger'
without the bun. This usually creates a few curious smiles from the server,
but they are always ready to put the patty on a plate and supply a fork and
knife, and of course any trimming I want. Also, there are about 30 Swiss
Chalets in Metropolitan Toronto, and their BBQ chicken is GF. I suggest your
have the baked potatoe as their french fries are not GF!
