Dear Listmates:
Thank you so very much for your prompt replies. My daughter's friend
(who is in her mid 20's...sorry I neglected to make that clear!) has
made an appointment with Dr Myron Falchuk.
I cannot believe all the time that has flown by since I should have sent this
summary. I do sincerely apologize. Because of my tardiness, I am amazed to
find that I do not still have access to many of the e-mails that provided
information for pediatric specialists. Only one is still in my files...Dr.
Harland Winter at Mass. General.
Here is the info on GI specialists for adults: (I have included all of
the info I was provided, therefore some have more data than others.)
~ 4 people recommend Dr. Myron Falchuk @ Beth Israel Hospital
617-632-8623
Each of the following Drs. was recommended by 1 person:
~ Dr Curtis @ Newton Wellsley Hospital 617-969-1227
~ Dr. Sonia Friedman Brigham & Women's Hospital
~ Dr George Barrett 100 Highland St. Suite 101 Milton, Mass. 617 -696-0082
~ Dr. Marcel Stoneham, Mass
~ Dr Benjamin Smith Faulkner Hospital 617-983-7172
~ Dr Ciaran Kelly 1 YES & 1 NO!! & SEE NOTE BELOW
I also thought this RESPONSE would be an important addition:
The center of medical expertise for CD in the Boston area is Beth Israel. I
have met Dr. Kieran Kelly socially and he is obviously quite expert in CD, but
I think he's pediatric. However, I understand a number of docs there are CD
savvy. They have a dietitian who is a celiac herself.
My gratitude to all of you who so generously provided information for this
ill young woman. She is looking forward to receiving some expert medical
treatment.
Sincerely,
Kathy C
