Please help! I turn to those who have been so helpful, my fellow listmates!

My sister-in-law wants to do dinner in NYC for our mother-in-law's 65th birthday. Of course we have no idea where in the city she's got in mind...

We figured we'd give her some gf choices (my husband and I are both gf) - from www.glutenfreerestaurants.org or www.celiacchicks.com.

For her 60th, we had gone to Le Cirque - it was wonderful! They were so attentive to our needs and the food was fabulous and gf - upon request. I don't know if it will be that formal this time around - the sis-in-law has two children (1 & 4). Really, we're out of the loop, but we know the intent is to make it special (I guess formal to semi-)

Any suggestions/recommendations with actual experiences would be so greatly appreciated! I will post a summary. As always, thank you - Samantha
