I was diagnosed with celiac almost 15 yrs. ago & was very diligent
& meticulous about sticking to an absolutely gluten free diet and did well
until about 10 months ago.
I was also diagnosed 18 yrs. ago with urticaria, a vague term for rashes
and itaching, and then 10 yrs. ago was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos
Hypermobility, also a genetic disorder, that is thought to occur in the
same chromosome as celiac and often happens to people with Celiac. I
learned all I could about that condition & managed it ok also for a while.
I began to become allergic to more & more foods & medications as time went
on including all antibiotics. I was sent to Univ. of Mich. allergy clinic
to be tested last Nov. 2016 & when the allergy Dr. injected me with a
fluoroquinalone (Cipro, levaquin, etc.) drug, I had an immediate severe
reaction, of gut pain, chest pain, sudden high blood pressure, nausea,
etc. & had to have some emergency treatment to counteract the reaction.
The allergy specialist at U of
M immediately sent me on my way and abruptly said she was "done" with me.
