I have been reading the emails regarding whether zithromax is gluten free with some concern since my child who has cd is currently taking it. I called Pfizer and they said the gluten in zithromax does not come from gliaden. As I understand it, the gliaden protein is what celiacs react to. 

Does anyone know what gluten would not contain gliaden? And would that mean it is safe for celiacs?
