Many people have asked the Brand names of Passover Foods. I just went
to the store and got a few of the names of products I used that were
reasonable. Things like frozen meals were not in the store yet, so I
could not respond about the names of these manufacturers. Last year I got
potato Latkes, cheese blintzes and several other things in the frozen foods.

Some of the good brands that I have found are Gruenebaum's, Haddar, and
Messings.
Messing Products is a division of Spilke's Baking Co. Inc Brooklyn, N.Y.11211.

Haddar is a product of Erba Food Products, Inc.Brooklyn. N.Y. 11236, Product of
USA.

Gruenebaum's was from Division Baking Corporation, New York, New York 104572

The Gruenebaum's brownies are good. The cake I have in my hand now is a
nut cake that makes a great shortcake with strawberries and ice cream or
coolwhip. The ingredients are: Whole eggs, sugar, cottonseed
shortening, potato starch, fresh lemons and oranges, nuts, cocoa, mocha
cream, coconut flavorings. It is marked Kosher for Passover.Since grains are
not used all this appears quite safe and I have had no reactions. It is
especially good for me because of my soy allergies and soy is harder to avoid
at times than gluten.

I just got Duck sauce from Gold's that uses Passover Vinegar, so stocked up for
the year.

There were several other cakes that were good, made from eggs and nut flours,
but very expensive. Since I have finally learned to bake, I didn't choose to
buy it. I wonder if we express our needs, if some of these products might be
available throughout the year? I am not of Jewish heritage so I don't
know all the rules used for these foods, although my daughter-in-law
keeps a kosher house and has been very helpful.
