Thanks to all who wrote to me about this.  I haven't time
to write back individually to all but I read your messages
with great interest.

None who wrote to me had had problems with keeping millet.
The consensus seems to be that keeping it in the 'fridge or
freezer prolongs the life of the material, although one
correspondant does keep it at room temperature without
problems.

We had been warned of this problem by an Indian lady who we
know and so were neither very surprised to find that she
was right, nor prone to leap out to get some more
immediately.  I wonder if ours was old?
