Hi All,

I was recently asked to be a bridesmaid in a wedding for a friend in late October. It will be taking place at Hilton Head in South Carolina, and we are flying in to Savannah, GA which I'm told is about an hour away. Since I'm in the bridal party I am not sure how much time I will have to myself to scout the area, and we will be there for 4-5 days, so more than I can easily bring food with me in my luggage.

I have not visited my friend at her home there since being diagnosed with celiac in 2006, so I have no idea what my options are food-wise. Anyone live in the area or visited enough to know whats near? Tips on nearby grocery stores are especially appreciated since I may not have control over what restaurants we go to, so if we wind up at unsafe restaurants I will mostly want to make sure I have the ability to eat before hand or afterwards easily (I don't want to bug the bride too much since I know how crazy-stressful getting a wedding up and running can be! Plus, she has no wheat allergy and probably hasn't thought about the logistics of that yet).

Any advice is appreciated, and I will try to get a summary up, though that may be a couple weeks in the making as I will be planning her bridal shower until then!

Much thanks in advance,

Lucy in DC
