Hi all! A couple of quick things...I posted a guestion last month re:
oats. Thanks to all those who responded. It really is a heated discussion
and I enjoyed my email. Most celiacs do not eat oats, some do with no
reaction, and alot of folks would eat oats IF they could find an
uncontaminated source. It remains a question in my mind...My husband
wants me to give him warning if I decide to try...so he can move out for
a few days!! I don't get that cranky when I'm sick!!!!
  A reminder...when I was diagnosed 8 years ago I realized the genetic
factor and looked around at my immediate family. But that was as far as I
went. Well my Uncle on my Mothers side has just been diagnosed. He knew
about my diet but was not aware that it was hereditary. He also did not
know all the symptoms ( not dinner conversation!). I could of saved him
many years of symptoms. So my reminder is to look at all relatives and be
sure they all know the symptoms and their variations!!!
One last thing..I am visiting my Dad in Venus, Florida the 1st 2 weeks
in April and wondered if anyone was from the Venus/Sarasota area with
info on gf bakeshops/restaurants. I order a gf diet on American Airlines
so we'll see!
Thanks again for being on the LIST. I no longer feel alone in this
diet...and know I am baking for my 67 year old Uncle as well ( he's too
busy skiing to bake)!!! Dianne in snowy B.C. I hear it is warm
in Venus,Fla. We've had a 48 hr. snow dump..can hardly wait to fly south
but for now I'll go skiing!!!
