I received over 50 responses to my question regarding sweet rice flour. Thank you all so much! One person reported having had a negative experience with products purchased at an Asian market. Five people wrote that they only buy from suppliers who can guarantee that their products are safe. They didn't feel buying from other sources would be worth the health risk. The other (40+) writers all reported using sweet rice flour purchased at Asian markets (some made by US companies, and some by suppliers in other countries) with no reactions. Several writers said they are very sensitive to gluten and have been using the Asian sweet rice flour for many years with no reaction. One writer commented that she discovered through research that wheat is not grown in Thailand, so she feels safest buying sweet rice flour from Thailand. Many writers reported that they also purchase tapioca flour, potato starch, and other rice flours at their Asian markets with no problems.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to write! Best of luck to everyone as you make your decisions about what products feel safest and right for you.
