I was not diagnosed with celiac until I was 37. Now, at age 42 I went for a
bone density test on a whim and lo and behold I have osteoporosis. This
ironically, after a life of drinking, but not absorbing milk. It is unclear
since this was my first bone density test whether I have actually improved
since my celiac diagnosis. Don't you think my internist should have
recommended this on his own ? Is this common in celiacs ?
The advice was to take Vitamin D and 1000mil. of calcium for one year. Have
another bone density test and then decide if more aggressive steps need to be
taken. Anyone with any experience with this I would love to hear from you.
Also, are Freeda's vitamins the one people have posted as gluten free ? I
will summarize osteoporosis mail. Thanks, Diane Smith.
