Hi Folks:

What a response to my question - Can you be overweight and then diagnosed
with Celiac Sprue?       Received 74 replies - 63 were overweight when they
were diagnosed.  Some diagnosed serum testing, most biopsy and some self-
diagnosed.

 Advise - change doctors - "Bad doctor"
               - Educate your doctor
               - Educate yourself

Several referred to Dr.  Joseph Murray's presentation available at
www.celiac.com click on "Celiac in the 90's" - which I did - gave copy to friend
with this problem.

I copied all the E-mail letters off and gave them to my friend in our support
group and truly it was the first time I have seen her smile.  The encouragement
from this list has been overwhelming and I thank you all very much.  I will not
be able to E-mail each person individually but hope that you all read this and
know how very much you all are appreciated.  Thanks from my friend and myself.
