Here's something:

In _Protein Power_ Dr. Eades tells a tale of diets. Remains of Egyptians
were compared to another large nomadic tribe. The diets of the two were
almost a mirror of the facts being argued by the low-carb diet crowd. The
Egyptians were farmers. The bulk of their diet was fruit, grains and other
refined sugar products. In comparison the nomadic tribe's staple food was
animal flesh and green vegetables.

The remains of the Egyptians showed high incidence of tooth decay, coronary
disease, malignancy, etc. The remains also showed that there were a lot of
people who had high body fat percentages.

The nomadic meat eating tribe show only a very small percentage of these ills.

Dr. Lutz in his article (which I can e-mail only) epidemiologically says the
same as the above. There really is no reason to eat any of the cereal
grains. So eat lots of vegetables.
