I was diagnosed in August with Celiac Disease. Being a devout
Catholic, I have searced high and low for a gluten-free communion host or
wafer. I was all excited when the American Celiac Society in West Orange,
NJ gave the name of a company in Rhode Island claiming to distribute
"Gluten-free Communion Wafers". To my dismay, as fast as I sent them a
fax for information, they notified me that the company in New England no
longer was supplying them with the wafer. Dr. Kasarda has mentioned in a
support group letter that wafers can be made with a wheat starch with the
gluten taken out. If you know of any place in the U.S. that supplies
wheat starch, I would appreciate your list letting me know. There is a
possibility of these being made for me, but better yet, is finding a
company that supplies them. Waiting patiently for a reply.
