The doctor I had an appointment with left town till next year. I was going
to have my 3 year old tested. However, at a Celiac meeting I discovered that
a biopsy is not possible unless I leave the state with him. I have him on a
GF diet and am not willing to loose the ground I feel I am gaining to get a
blood test that may or may not work as it should on a small child. I suppose
any biospsy will soon appear normal also.

I am ordering the tests from a testing company and am considering having his
sister take it as she had the same symptoms as a baby and has historically
had bowel problems diagnosed as gasto-interitis and constipation. Once in
the ER with constipation sysmptoms her blood test came back with something
about antibodies. She still has constipation and bad cramps on occasion and
on those days she has consummed mass quantities of wheat.

I only have low iron. Different Dads. Irish decent for both kids. Both had
early wheat reactions.

Should I go ahead and have my 14 year old take a blood test? Should I also
take the test? Should only one of us bother with the test and who and why?

I would infer from a positive test from either of us that the 3 year old is
positive. If we are negitive then I will loose any faith in the GF diet from
his father.

Any advise?

Thanks.

Also, I got so much good and conflicting advise reguarding breast milk and
glutin that I do not know how to approach summerizing. I am wondering, if
glutin does pass through milk then what about all that cow milk? Isn't it
going to be glutin filled from what the cow might eat?

Thanks more.
