>>>I am not sure if you mean the Villa (nuns) campus.
But, I have gone to many retreats at the Villa. They are wonderful to deal
with and have taken great care of me for my Celiac problem. I have brought
my own bread and cereals but they always seemed to have plenty for me to eat
whatever meal I want. I just send them a general copy of my diet letting
them know I will be there for a retreat. They work with you. One of the
nuns had Celiac a few years ago who has since passed on.
(No, I meant the Villanova U)

>>>There are two Whole Foods Markets in the area, one in Devon (about 5
>>>miles west) and the other is about 5 miles to the east, both on Lancaster
>>>Ave (Rt. 30).

>>>Try going to www.goodhealthpublishing.com for a list of 59
>>>national/regional
restaurants and their lists of gluten/wheat free items. There's also a
gluten free dining card that can be presented to restaurant personnel to
ease the ordering process.
(This is something you need to purchase.)

>>>You will be within a few miles of a Whole Foods market and a Trader Joes.
>>> Our favorite shop which is basically for celiacs is the The Dietary
>>>Shoppe, Inc at 4436 Ridge Ave. Phila. only about 15 minutes from Nova.
This shop has all the goodies, Pizza by George, Don Pancho tortillas, Mr.
Ritts products (which is in South Philly not too far away, and also the
Bi-Aglut pastas and even frozen Ravioli etc. Restaurant- "Vinny T's of
Boston" which is on Lancaster ave. a few miles down from Villanova.

>>>In King of Prussia mall, there is a wonderful Pan-Asian restaurant with
>>>knowledgeable chefs where you can get a good meal. grocery store....Food
>>>Source....which is on Rt 30 in Bryn Mawr where you can find a nice
>>>selection of grocery items.....and Arrowroot is a small health food store
>>>in Bryn Mawr that may have some products that you are looking for.

>>>When I visited Villanova in February after I was accepted, I emailed
>>>someone from there and explained my situation since the weekend was for
>>>accepted students and there were meals involved. They were very nice and
>>>provided me with gluten-free muffins, fruit, and a soy milk drink (even
>>>though I am not lactose intolerant- I guess they assumed that most people
>>>with celiac are) for breakfast. For lunch I was provided with a plain
>>>garden salad with grilled chicken (although the chicken did not look
>>>real) and more fruit. Overall they were very nice and accommodating.
>>>You should definitely check out The Dietary Shoppe and Mr. Ritts Bakery-
>>>both in Philly. When I went there they said that Villanova orders from
>>>them often for kids that have Celiac Disease. In fact the muffins they
>>>gave me were gluten-free. If you can't get there while you are in the
>>>area, they both ship, although the freshly baked items at Mr. Ritts are
>>>amazing!
(I emailed Villanova University nutritionist and she is being very
helpful!!)

>>>And one person sent me an attachment of a gluten free restaurant card I
>>>could print (after I added the dairy restrictions also) which is great!

You all were very helpful and I am so glad I can eat right there on campus
instead of trying to bring and buy food!! You all are awesome! I did get 2
out of office emails and one request to share info.
Sue
