Has anyone had any luck getting reimbursed through a flex spending account
for the difference in cost between gluten free food and regular food? I
submitted in receipts for comparison of regular food and gluten free food
along with a letter from my doctor stating the diagnosis and that I must be
on a gluten free diet for life. The gluten free items were: rice bread,
rice pasta, rice crackers, gf cookies, gf brownie mix, gf pretzels, gf
muffin mix and corn meal. The entire list was rejected. They stated that
since they don't pay for a diabetic's sugar free cookies, they won't pay
for the difference in cost of my gf food items. Should I get reimbursed
for the difference in cost for the entire gluten free list, partial gluten
free list or not at all? If I should be reimbursed, does anyone know where
I can find the official rules and regulations and print it out to show
them? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Thank you for your help.
