Hi everyone,

I have been on a strict GF for over 7 years. Apart from colgate and crest toothpaste (which are supposed to be GF), I control everything I eat. Last xmas I had severe eczema like blistering on three fingers of my right hand. Since then, although it has gone from less to extremely severe, it has never gone away. I used to use prescription corticoid cream but I decided last week I was going to identify the culprit as the rash was becoming thicker and red and the cream is becoming less and less effective. I also started having eczema spots behind one ear and on my eyelids. If possible I try to avoid increasing the dosage in the corticoid cream.

So I first quit all dairy and coffee. The skin did heal somewhat but not completey and I suddenly got another flare up which I thought was triggered by something else I ate, other than coffee and dairy.

I would like inputs from those of you who went through idenfying a source of allergy, other than gluten. How long afetr ingestion do you associate symptoms with what was eaten ? What was the diet like (e.g. morning, lunch, supper) ? Did it work for you ? Did you take any supplements during this period, which ones ? How long did it take to id the damaging food ? What was it ? What would you recommand to anyone trying this ?

I already contacted a nutritionist but I fear she is learning with me as we go along. I would love to hear your success and/or failure stories to cure your eczema.

I know stress may be invloved in triggering flare ups but my only source of stress these days is my skin condition and what I should avoid to heal it.

Thank you all in advance

Caroline
