Further responses to my post asking for names of doctors who look at the entire spectrum of autoimmune disorders:

One respondent suggested testing for hemochromatosis.

Two respondents recommended Fred Vivino, a rheumatologist at Presbyterian Medical Center, 39th & Filbert Street in the Heart Institute building.

One respondent recommended the endocrinologist Dr. Serge Jabbour at Thomas Jefferson Hospital.

One respondent suggested looking for doctors who practice functional medicine, that is doctors trained to look at the whole body, and recommended the website www.functionalmedicine.org .

One respondent indicated that there are no doctors who take an overall view of autoimmune disorders and that it is necessary to deal with a number of different specialists.

This has been a great help to my friend and hopefully as well to the several list members who wrote to say they are in a similar predicament.

Thanks very much for all the responses.

Mary Ann
