Hi, Listmates:

Since the summary on "wanting to help relatives in denial" was posted, I
have been INUNDATED with wonderfully supportive email messages. What a
truly supportive group here! I wish I could respond to each and every
one of you who have written to me, but there are far too many messages.
Opening each message has been like getting a fresh bouquet of roses all
over again. Now I am really pumped about making this trip!!!

I will let you know the outcome of my visit to western NY, which will be
sometime after the snow melts.

If you have any relatives who you feel are in denial and you've never
approached them about being tested for celiac disease, take a chance by
sharing your own story. Focus on your interest in their health, your
relief of finding the solution to your own health problem, and
especially make sure they are fully aware of the long-term consequences
of leaving this disease undiagnosed and untreated. If they choose to
remain in denial, at least you will have done what you could for them.
(Several listmates have shared that you are now in frustration over
relatives you've tried to help. Well, you did what you could -- which is
what I'm about to embark on for my relatives.) One part of sharing my
own story will be the stage of denial ...

Thanks again. You've been great! Stay glutenfree for LIFE!
