I will be making plans for a trip to Northern Italy. We will be with a group in a small hotel in the Italian Alps for about a week, then we will return to Milan, and my husband and I are hoping to go to the Padua/Venice area for a few days afterwards.

I have a Triumph Dining card. I would love to know of others' experiences in the area, and how to manage on our own. It is my impression that Italians are well informed about CD, and that it is reasonably easy to travel there with special dietary needs. Any help/ideas greatly appreciated! As well as any recommendation for dining tips and spots in Venice, or even places to stay.

Many thanks!

Chris in California
