Hi Everyone--

I just spoke with Frito-Lay in Dallas this morning to verify my
information re: Lays not guaranteeing their products are gf. According
to two people I spoke with, the operative word, here, is "guarantee."
They do wash their production equipment between products, but small
amounts of gluten may remain and may cause some reaction in very
sensitive individuals. Consequently, they cannot "guarantee" their
products are gf. For a majority of the celiacs, those products listed as
gf will not cause problems.

If anyone can get a written guarantee that these products are gf, that
would be wonderful. I certainly didn't intend to imply that Frito-Lay
products are not safe - they are simply not guaranteed to be gf. Sorry
for any misunderstanding...

Ayn.
